Appreciation: The Golden Jubilee Celebration of Our Lady of Lourdes Church was a truly memorable and joyful occasion, as a Parish Community we wish to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make the night so special. We thank Bishop Ray and all our priests for their presence, prayers and support. Sincere thanks to the Choir, Stephen O’Leary’s Music Group, Moriarty School of Dancing, Holy Communion Singers, Readers, Altar Servers and all who participated in the Liturgy, to Tony and Robert who kept everyone safe crossing the road. A special thanks to Mike Murphy for kindly making the school hall available, to the staff and pupils for the beautiful art work they created and displayed, for the beautiful refreshments and celebrations afterwards, to all who attended, helped in any way donated their time and supported the celebration. We offer our sincere appreciation, your generosity and community spirit ensured that our Golden Jubilee was a wonderful success and a fitting celebration of 50 years of faith, prayer and fellowship.

   Reflection

All of us can be healers.

Our lives are continually touching those of other people. With a little sympathy we could heal a wounded heart.

With a little care we could ease a troubled mind,

With a little of our time we could ease the pain of loneliness for someone.

From time to time each of us should stop and ask ourselves: ‘What goes out from me through my words, my deeds, my relationships – hurting or healing?’

Healing is not a task only for the individual.

If we can create communities where people can get together, work together and support each other, then healing becomes a part of everyday life.
