ILLEGAL DUMPING
A series of green waste fly-tipping of hedge clippings, trees, and green waste has recently taken place on the Bog Walks. We would like to bring it to the attention of those involved that this practice is strictly illegal under the Waste Management Acts and Litter Pollution Acts in Ireland. Even though garden clippings are "natural" materials, discarding them on a mountain or blanket bog constitutes fly-tipping and carries the exact same penalties as dumping household rubbish. Help protect our local environment by reporting any sightings or fly-tipping anonymously to Kerry County Council on 066 716 2000, the Environmental Hotline at 1800 326 228, or via email at
KILCUMMIN LADIES FOOTBALL CLUB
The Kilcummin Ladies Football Club annual used clothes collection will take place at the clubhouse on Friday, 25th September, from 7pm to 9pm; on Saturday, 26th, from 10am to 12 noon and Sunday the 27th, from 11am to 12:30pm. Items that can be included are re-wearable clothing, paired shoes, handbags and belts, towels and blankets, soft toys, and curtains. Every bag counts. Your support is greatly appreciated.
COMPUTER COURSE
Computer course starting in Kilcummin Rural Development Office on Monday 7th September from 7pm to 9.30pm. The course is entitled Graphic Design QQI Level 3; basic knowledge of Word Processing is necessary. Microsoft Word, Desktop Publishing and PowerPoint programmes are used throughout the course. Kilcummin 2-14 John Mitchels 0-19
In an entertaining game that went down to the last kick, we emerged victorious thanks to a massive two-pointer from Brendan Kealy in injury time. A victory that sees us win the group and earn a home game against Ballymac on Saturday at 5.30pm. We started brightly with a Kevin McCarthy point followed by a Philip O'Leary goal and led by 1-3 to 0-3 after 15 minutes. Mikey Casey and Philip O’Leary added points before Casey goaled following great work from Kevin McCarthy. We led 2-05 to 0-05 with ten minutes left but Mitchels added four points to leave us leading by just two points at half time.
The second half was to prove very exciting with both teams exchanging scores throughout. After 10 minutes the sides were level again 2-07 to 0-13. Kevin McCarthy and Philip O’ Leary pointed again to counter a Mitchels team that were now on top and playing well. Our defence was being stretched but held up well and further points from Jack Fogarty and Cian Foley saw the side’s level with 3 mins left. When Mitchels pointed a free after a breach we feared the worst but once again Brendan Kealy was our saviour after a mammoth kick that was greeted with sheer delight.

There was no winner of our lotto on Friday, 21st August for the Jackpot of €10,200. Numbers drawn were 01,05,12,17.
