Reflection
All through life’s day, you walk with us, Lord
but often we don’t recognise you,
for we are blinded by work and worry,
doubt, confusion and fear,
and so you remain a stranger to us.
Before the day’s end we will ask many questions,
experience many sorrows and disappointments,
and then, suddenly, whether we are young,
middle-aged, or old,
we will find that night is approaching.
In that moment we pray,
that, like the disciples on the road to Emmaus,
our eyes will be opened,
and that we will recognise you.
And you will not vanish from our sight,
but stay with us to guide us
to the Father’s house.

Reflection
Prayer for Vocations
Heavenly Father, we ask You to send labourers into Your harvest and to bless all who strive to listen to Your voice.
Inspire in the hearts of men and women, vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life.
Bless our families with a spirit of generosity,
So that those whom You call have the courage to give themselves to Your church in faith.
Send workers into Your great harvest so that the Gospel is preached, the poor are served with love,
the suffering are comforted,
and Your people are strengthened by the sacraments.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen.

Reflection
Heavenly Father, walk with me today,
and grant that I hear Your footsteps
and gladly follow where they lead.
Talk with me today and grant that I may hear
Your tender Voice,
and quicken to its counsel.
Stay with me today and grant that I may feel
Your gentle presence in all I do and think.
Be my strength when I an weak,
my courage when I fear.
Help me to know that it is Your hand holding mine,
through all the hours of this day,
and when night falls grant that I may know,
I rest in Your Sacred Heart.
